The Mysterious Benedict Society #1

In The Mysterious Benedict Society 4 children must find a way to work together even though they just met each other. Sticky (nicknamed because everything he reads sticks in his head.) is the brains, Reynie (Known for thinking on the spot.) is a natural leader, Kate (Always able, Faster and stronger then anyone else.) takes up the physical ability spot, and last but definitely not least is Constance (who is Contrary to say the least and good at rhyming on the spot) is a little known determination spot. Our little known heroes must infiltrate even the highest secrets.

Under Wildwood Book 2

     This book is thrilling and lives up to the high standard set by Wildwood. Colin Meloy and Carson Ellis artfully manage to keep the multiple threads of the story intertwined just enough so it won't fall apart, but they still leave you wanting more. The story again follows Prue, and Curtis, as well as introducing us to Curtis's family-most prominently his sisters, Elsie and Rachel. Curtis's sisters are left behind in Portland when someone in a remote area of Africa thinks they spot Curtis. Finding no alternatives, Elsie and Rachel are boarded in the local orphanage, but it's no ordinary orphanage, the founders hobby is machine parts and his workers are the orphans. Elsie and Rachel must try to assimilate quickly or else.
     Meanwhile Prue is living an almost normal life in Portland, missing the pizzazz of the "Impassable wilderness" when she suddenly realizes her science teacher is trying to kill her-no really. Darla, her pseudo science teacher, a shape shifter and assassin is assigned to kill Curtis, Prue, and Iphigenia the elder mystic. Although she comes very close the Wildwood bandits rescue Prue just in time. Darla is the main antagonist and a very powerful enemy.
     Curtis is having the time of his life when things get complicated all around. He abandons another family and faces a lot of guilt. He and Prue also become the heroes of an underground city of moles, which was built by one of the architects that designed Alexei, the Dowager Governess's lost son. Prue was told by the Council tree that she needed to find both the makers and reconstruct the true heir. Also the founder of the orphanage is hired to build Alexei's heart, but by the enemy force!  This complicated Tapestry leaves no loose threads but does have a huge cliffhanger. One of the reasons that the couple's books are so good is because they are patient and paint a gorgeous scene for every page of the book and although long they go by so quickly because you wont want to put the book down.

No one thinks of a small girl being a hero, however no one tries to think of the holocaust. This very gripping book is about a foster child (Liesel Meminger) who's Father is gone, Mother cannot feed her and a brother who died on the train. Although Liesel ends up finding a good friend (Rudy Steiner) her life couldn't possibly get more complicated! Then it does. When Max Vandenburg shows up, he is a convict Jew. Hans and Rosa Hubermann, the foster parents, beckoned him out of the cold world outside. they set up a small home out of paint cans and drape sheets in the basement. they told him to wash up and he obeyed. This bitter bittersweet story makes you appreciate everything you take for granted. Amazingly realistic. A very interesting style, narrated by death.

with the little devil. Although easy to anger the devil produces
magical wonders, such as a walking stick that will write on anything,
or a calculator as big and fuzzy as a couch (or green and slimy).
But in the end Robert learns to love mathematics and the number
devil gives him the best gift possible.

Jason, a dreamer, Julia, a big city girl also Jason's twin sister and Rick an intellectual kid with extra bright ideas fall into the blending of a extraordinary story when, Jason and Julia's parents move to Argo manor a large mansion with lots of secrets They find a large door with four key holes
then find four keys, also a crypted message, a poem of somekind.

In the end of the first book they find a boat in a small grotto with no means of escape. Questions are the only answer where does it lead, anywhere? They climb aboard trying to uncover its secret Jason does something the world swirls and they are someplace hot. What? Where? When? Thats what they want to know.

This is a wonderful series though you know theses three children must make it through the hardships set out on their rickety path of destiny it still is unforeseeable. With each book the ending is the perfect concoction of satisfaction and anticipation for a safe ending, which defiantly leaves you wanting more! This fantastical book makes you want to believe in magic.
